Training course: Fundamentals of Sustainable Universities 🌱

Universities have an incredible potential of driving sustainability in society. At TUM International GmbH we have embarked on a journey of catalyzing and enabling universities in leveraging this potential! One important step in this journey has been the development and delivery of the Sustainability Training in collaboration with our partner University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN).

In this course, we accompany changemakers in their endeavors to drive sustainability in their institutions and ecosystems along a Whole-Institution Approach (WIA) that universities can apply to advance their sustainability transformation. It encompasses tools and examples with regards to sustainability in university administration, campus management, research and education, entrepreneurship support and community management. While this approach provides ideas for a guided structure, it also accounts for the specificities in universities’ context and outlines different pathways that a sustainability transformation can take. Participants get the chance to envision the ideal sustainable university of the future and define concrete measures to move forward.
Guest speakers and key sustainability changemakers from TUM and UIIN’s ecosystems provide hands-on insights into their experiences and success factors when it comes to the implementation of sustainability in the university context.
