Specific information about the website

When you call up our web pages, you transmit data to our web server (out of technical necessity) via your Internet browser. The following data is recorded during an ongoing connection for communication between your Internet browser and our web server:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Web browser and operating system used
  • Complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • volume of data transferred.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attempted attacks on our web server, we store this data for a short period of time. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymized by shortening the IP address at domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a link to the individual user. In addition, the data is processed anonymously for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other data or passed on to third parties, even in excerpts.

Website analysis through Matomo
We use the tool Matomo for the demand-oriented design of our website. This is a so-called web analysis service. In order to record and analyze the use of our website, usage information is transmitted to our server and stored for analysis purposes. During this process, your IP address is only processed in abbreviated form and thus anonymized. If you wish to prevent processing for analysis purposes, you can object at any time by clicking on the mouse. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is placed in your browser without usage data, which means that Matomo does not collect any session data.
Attention: If you delete your cookies, this will result in the opt-out cookie also being deleted and you may have to activate it again.
Click here to stop your visit from being recorded.

Use of own “cookies” required for the website display
The setting of cookies to the extent necessary for the website display (e.g. storage of language selection, shopping cart functions, etc.) is also permissible without the explicit consent of the website visitors. Beyond this — esp. Cookies aimed at tracking website visitors require the prior documented consent of website visitors.
This website uses its own “cookies” to store settings required for website viewing (“cookies” are records sent by the web server to the user’s browser and stored there for later retrieval). No personal data is stored in our own “cookies”. You can generally prevent the use of “cookies” if you prohibit the storage of “cookies” in your browser.

Vimeo
The integration of the TUMint image video results — for technical reasons — in calls to the Vimeo server. For the associated use of data of the user browser or terminal device, we refer to the privacy policy of Vimeo. Because Vimeo is responsible for the corresponding data processing. Vimeo’s privacy notice is located here: https://vimeo.com/privacy.
According to Vimeo, they guarantee an adequate level of data protection by complying with the Privacy Shield requirements(Privacy Shield entry).
