Tog­e­ther with the Deut­sche Gesell­schaft für Inter­na­tio­na­le Zusam­men­ar­beit (GIZ), TUM Inter­na­tio­nal has deve­lo­ped a web-based sus­taina­bi­li­ty cal­cu­la­tor in the regio­nal pro­gram “Coope­ra­ti­on Plat­form Latin Ame­ri­ca North (COPLAN)” that shows the return on sus­taina­bi­li­ty invest­ments in new or exis­ting indus­tri­al parks.

The cal­cu­la­tor takes into account the spe­ci­fic legal and eco­no­mic con­di­ti­ons of dif­fe­rent regi­ons in Cen­tral Ame­ri­ca — it is curr­ent­ly available for Mexi­co and Cos­ta Rica. The sus­taina­bi­li­ty cal­cu­la­tor will be adapt­ed to other count­ries in the future to iden­ti­fy pro­mi­sing invest­ment oppor­tu­ni­ties for both for­eign and local owners and ope­ra­tors of indus­tri­al sites and clus­ter hubs.
