ABOUT AZSET
AZSET / AZCON School of Engi­nee­ring & Tech­no­lo­gies is a new engi­nee­ring and tech­no­lo­gy edu­ca­ti­on
pro­gram­me ope­ra­ting as a struc­tu­ral unit of Azer­bai­jan Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty (AzTU), in part­ner­ship with TUM
Inter­na­tio­nal GmbH, the inter­na­tio­nal arm of the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty of Munich (TUM). The pro­gram­me is ful­ly
fun­ded by AZCON Hol­ding, a lea­ding natio­nal indus­tri­al group. AZSET deli­vers a Bache­lor of Sci­ence in
Com­pu­ter Sci­ence enti­re­ly in Eng­lish, com­bi­ning the rigor of a Ger­man rese­arch uni­ver­si­ty with an inter­na­tio­nal
cur­ri­cu­lum tail­o­red to the tech­no­lo­gi­cal needs of Azer­bai­jan. Our inau­gu­ral cohort will com­mence in Sep­tem­ber
2026.

REQUIREMENTS
Essen­ti­al:
– PhD in Com­pu­ter Sci­ence, Infor­ma­tics, Soft­ware Engi­nee­ring, Com­pu­ter Engi­nee­ring, or a clo­se­ly
rela­ted field
– Demons­tra­ted abili­ty to teach at bache­lor level with cla­ri­ty, rigor, and aca­de­mic depth
– Strong sub­ject-mat­ter exper­ti­se in at least two core com­pu­ter sci­ence are­as
– Excel­lent Eng­lish pro­fi­ci­en­cy all ins­truc­tion, assess­ment, and aca­de­mic com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on is con­duc­ted in
Eng­lish
– Abili­ty to design and super­vi­se hands-on pro­gramming, labo­ra­to­ry and pro­ject-based work

Pre­fer­red:
– Pri­or tea­ching expe­ri­ence at an inter­na­tio­nal­ly reco­gni­zed uni­ver­si­ty
– Published rese­arch record or appli­ed indus­try rese­arch expe­ri­ence
– Fami­lia­ri­ty with Euro­pean (Bolo­gna) aca­de­mic frame­works

SELECTION PROCESS
The sel­ec­tion fol­lows a rigo­rous, mul­ti-stage aca­de­mic pro­ce­du­re ali­gned with TUM Inter­na­tio­nal stan­dards:
– Docu­ment review: CV, degree cer­ti­fi­ca­tes, list of taught cour­ses, tea­ching eva­lua­tions (whe­re available),
and a short tea­ching state­ment
– Aca­de­mic scree­ning: veri­fi­ca­ti­on of qua­li­fi­ca­ti­ons and sub­ject exper­ti­se
– Tea­ching inter­view: tea­ching phi­lo­so­phy, cour­se design, assess­ment prac­ti­ces, stu­dent super­vi­si­on
– Sam­ple lec­tu­re (man­da­to­ry): a 30–45 minu­te lec­tu­re in Eng­lish on a topic rele­vant to the bache­lor
cur­ri­cu­lum, deli­ver­ed befo­re a facul­ty panel and sel­ec­ted stu­dents
