On April 11th 2024 we’re hos­ting the Ger­man-Uzbek Sym­po­si­um,

“Bridging Bor­ders: Explo­ring Col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve Pathways bet­ween Ger­man and Uzbek Aca­de­mia and Indus­try,”

at the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty of Munich, TUM Cam­pus Gar­ching.

This pivo­tal event show­ca­ses the gro­wing ties bet­ween Ger­ma­ny and Uzbe­ki­stan, high­light­ing the inno­va­ti­ve part­ner­ship with New Uzbe­ki­stan Uni­ver­si­ty (NewUU).

This sym­po­si­um marks a signi­fi­cant occa­si­on — the visit of a distin­gu­is­hed dele­ga­ti­on from New Uzbe­ki­stan Uni­ver­si­ty (NewUU) to Munich. The young uni­ver­si­ty has been sup­port­ed and advi­sed by TUMint sin­ce its incep­ti­on, tog­e­ther with Prof. Wolf­gang A. Her­mann as NewUU’s Hono­ra­ry Pre­si­dent, making TUM the Ger­man anchor uni­ver­si­ty of NewUU.

The event is desi­gned to show­ca­se NewUU, offi­ci­al­ly foun­ded by decree by Uzbekistan’s Pre­si­dent Shav­kat Mir­zi­yoyev in June 2021, a prime exam­p­le of Uzbekistan’s edu­ca­tio­nal reforms and to fos­ter part­ner­ships bet­ween Ger­man and Uzbek aca­de­mia and indus­try lea­ders. The aim is to pro­mo­te NewUU within the Munich and Bava­ri­an Sci­ence & Inno­va­ti­on Eco­sys­tem and to estab­lish fruitful con­nec­tions with key repre­sen­ta­ti­ves from TUM, other aca­de­mic insti­tu­ti­ons, indus­try, and public sec­tor.
