Building Bridges Through International Education: TUM International and IN ThoughtBridge Co. (Shanghai Anyu)
Munich, Germany — September 2026
Since 2024, TUM International and IN ThoughtBridge Co. (Shanghai Anyu Education Technology Co., Ltd.) have been working together to create academic opportunities for university students from China and to strengthen educational exchange between Germany and China.
Over the course of this cooperation, the partnership has developed from individual Summer and Winter School programs into a broader platform for academic exchange, university engagement and international education.
01|A Long-term Partnership in International Education
TUM International GmbH, the 100% wholly owned university company of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and IN ThoughtBridge Co. (Shanghai Anyu Education Technology Co., Ltd.) have been working intesively together in this area for the China region since establishing their partnership in November 2024.
The cooperation brings together the academic resources and international education expertise of Technical University of Munich (TUM) with IN Thoughtbridge’s experience in connecting Chinese universities and students with leading European higher education institutions.
The programs cover a growing range of disciplines, combining academic learning with practical experiences, project based group work, industrial insights and intercultural exchange. This approach enables students not only to explore new fields of study, but also to better understand how academic research, technological innovation and industry are connected.
02|From Cooperation to Impact
The past year has marked an important milestone in the partnership. More than 600 students have participated in TUMint Future Technology Summer and Winter School programs, exploring a diverse range of academic subjects and experiencing university and industry life in Germany.
Building on these experiences, TUM International and IN ThoughtBridge are also exploring plans to jointly develop a Sino-German Education Forum in the future. The forum aims to bring together universities, educators and other relevant partners from Germany and China to exchange ideas on international education, university cooperation and new approaches to student development.
In this way, the partnership is evolving beyond individual programs to create a broader platform for institutional exchange and long-term educational cooperation.
03|Looking Ahead: Expanding Academic Horizons
Looking ahead, TUM International and IN ThoughtBridge plan to further develop the Summer and Winter School portfolio, offering students opportunities to explore an increasingly diverse range of academic fields.
Future programs will extend beyond traditional engineering disciplines to include areas such as “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics”, “Advanced Manufacturing and Material”, “Intelligent Mobility and Connected Autonomous Systems”,“Business, Innovation and Technology Management”, “Biology and Life Sciences”, “Quantum Technologies”, “Energy and Sustainability”, “Chemical Engineering” as well as “Medicine and Clinical Research” and ”eVTOL and UAM”.
At the same time, the programs will continue to emphasize the connection between academic knowledge and real-world applications through lectures, laboratory experiences, company visits, research projects and intercultural activities.
As the cooperation continues to grow, TUM International and IN Thoughtbridge remain committed to building meaningful connections between students, universities and academic communities in Germany and Asia.
