Beginning of June, a group of doctoral students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University awarded with the Evonik-SJTU PhD Fund Award was invited to visit TUM and attend lectures at the TUM Faculty of Chemistry.
As part of an Evonik exchange program for excellent young researchers at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and organized by the Evonik Center for Technology and Knowledge Transfer (CTKT) at TUM International GmbH, the program for the Chinese students comprised various presentations and seminars at the Faculty of Chemistry at TUM. From June 4 to 10, the visitors participated in courses with German students, took part in in-depth exchanges with different research groups, visited laboratories including the Biochemistry Research Center and the Catalysis Research Center and attended lectures. As a result, the group gained insights into state of the art research in Homogen Catalysis, Molecular Kinetics and Catalysis, Metal Complexes, Halogen Connections, Surface Chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry and Technical Electrochemistry. The scientific program was accompanied by a cultural and tourist program, followed by visits to several Evonik sites.
The CTKT coordinates the cooperation between TUM and Evonik in the fields of innovation and talent management and analyses joint research topics and needs. It furthermore takes over conception, planning and implementation of programs in the field of recruiting.
