On September 12, 2018, TUM International GmbH and the Polish NANONET Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim to further develop the concept of an international innovation cluster and create a think-tank which supports the development and competitive advantage of nanotechnology in Poland.
The mission of NANONET is to integrate all the involved and interested parties in the concept of nanotechnology, including: entrepreneurs, scientists, science and technology parks, science centres, scientific associations, self-government authorities, government and other agencies in Poland. It has its focus on the internationalisation of activities in the international arena. The aim of NANONET is the creation of a forum for exchange of opinions on the importance of nanotechnology for an innovative economy.

Auf der Veranstaltung “Evonik meets science“ Anfang September in Berlin wurde deutlich, wie starke Partnerschaften zwischen Industrie und Universitäten Innovationen vorantreiben: Forschungsprojekte zu den Themen Kosmetikwirkstoffe, parenterale Arbeimittelformulierungen, Probiotika für Nutztiere und Mikroemulsionen zeigten Erfolge und Potentiale der Kooperationen zwischen Evonik und universitären Partnern auf. Professor Arne Skerra von der TU München wurde mit der Bergius Lecture ausgezeichnet.

Golfstaat Qatar orientiert sich am German Engineering: Der Golfstaat Katar möchte die Kompetenz der Technischen Universität München (TUM) nutzen, um eine internationale Universität mit deutschen Spitzenstandards aufzubauen. Das Vorhaben einer „German University Qatar“ kündigte der Emir, Scheich Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, nach einem Gespräch mit Präsident Prof. Herrmann auf dem Qatar-Germany Business and Investment Forum am 7. Beginning of June, a group of doctoral students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University awarded with the Evonik-SJTU PhD Fund Award was invited to visit TUM and attend lectures at the TUM Faculty of Chemistry.

On February 26, 2018, the third annual CKI Conference at the TUM on "Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence" took place. The Center of Knowledge Interchange (CKI) is a joint institution of TUM and Siemens AG. It serves the purpose of promoting and deepening cooperation between both partners in the areas of technology transfer and talent development.

TUM International GmbH teamed up with the high-level partners Bayern International, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and TAPiO Management Advisory to revolutionize the Malaysian industrial ecosystem. Experts from each institution imparted their knowledge to local industry players in Selangor, Johor and Penang with Industry 4.0 in the frame of workshops, panel discussions and individual consultations sessions regarding best-practice examples on technologies, instruments, concepts and practices favorable for the industrial transformation.

University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HYplus and TUM International GmbH have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement aims for providing joint educational services globally.

TUM International GmbH along with its local partners Jubail Industrial College (JIC) and Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu have launched the Jubail Research and Innovation ClusterHUB (J-RICH) in the frame of a two-day kick-off event in Jubail (Saudi Arabia) in January 2017.

TUM International GmbH has ratified its final contracts with the Kuwait university operator Malakyia to set up a full-scale technical university in Kuwait until 2019. “TUM Kuwait” will meet all quality standards of Technische Universität München (TUM), one of the world’s leading technical universities, and offer a broad range of bachelor, master and PhD programs. Its innovation campus will become one of the most advanced technology transfer centers in the Gulf region.
