Dr.-Ing. Sven Conventz is senior project manager in the business division InSITE BAVARIA of TUM International. Before joining TUM International in 2019, he spent several years working as senior consultant and project manager in (international) consulting, where he advised private and public sectors organizations worldwide on a wide range of economic and social-development and transformation topics. His clients comprised government institutions, development agencies, national and multinational associations, public and private investors, project developers and constructions companies.
Apart from the topics mentioned above, Dr.-Ing. Sven Conventz has developed a strong background in various segments of the transportation industry, especially in aviation, rail, public transport, in tourism, housing and construction/real estate industry. He is also an expert in the field of knowledge-based and innovation-driven spatial development.
Over the years Dr.-Ing. Sven Conventz has widely published on these and other topics, both academically and practically. His most recent books are “Hub Cities in the Knowledge Economy: Seaports, Airports, Brainports” and “Airports, Cities and Region” (both Taylor & Francis Ltd.).
He holds a diploma (with distinctions) in economic geography with minors in urban planning, real estate economics and location and investment planning from the University of Bayreuth, a master’s in public policy and urban affairs, with a focus in urban and regional planning and urban economics, from the University of Delaware and a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from Technical University of Munich (TUM).
