Since 2016, TUM International is responsible for concepts, development and set-up of TUM Kuwait, TUM's spin-off university in Kuwait City.

Together with the Kuwaiti investor Malakiya, TUM International GmbH will make the private university to become a leading institution of higher education in Kuwait and the GCC region, offering Bachelor, Master and PhD programs in various fields such as engineering, management or ICT for up to approximately 6,600 students. Apart from the university, an innovation park will be built up, hosting amongst other, a business incubator as well as R&D institutions and a technology transfer center. A particular focus will be in the field of sustainability technologies, covering areas such as recycling or raw material efficiency.
A health service center (which shall become a university hospital later on) will also be part of this Knowledge City in Kuwait, which will be launched in 2020.
