With the KIU opening ceremony, the biggest and most important event of the academic year 2020/2021 took place. On 21st October 2020, high-ranking representatives of the Georgian government, the KIU management team and the students celebrated the opening and the convocation of the ‘class of 2024’. Beginning in October, KIU opened its doors to the 246 enrolled students and is ready to take off - at least digitally for now.
The admission criteria for the current Bachelor programmes (three in total: Management, Mathematics and Computer Science) are one of the most difficult in Georgia today. They are based on those of their role model, the Technische Universität München (TUM) and are an important component for the high quality of the new university.
KIU aims to further expand its study programs and would like to become more attractive to students from abroad.
On the occasion of the official opening ceremony, the honorary president of KIU, Prof. Wolfang A. Herrmann, created a video statement.
