CKI Conference 2019 on Industrial Internet of Things at TU Munich
The fourth annual CKI Conference at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on "Industrial Internet of Things" took place on April 4th at the Vorhoelzer Forum, above the rooftops of the Bavarian capital. More than 100 Siemens Experts and TUM scientists and students took the opportunity to network and exchange on the impact of Industrial Internet of Things and Siemens Mindsphere.
After welcoming addresses by the future TUM President Prof. Dr. Hofmann and Dr. Roland Busch the keynote speech about IoT at Siemens and TUM was given by Prof. Sebastian Steinhorst, professor for Embedded Systems and IoT, TUM) and Dr. Thomas Scheiter, the Head of Technology Field IoT.

Further tandem-talks from one TUM and Siemens expert each shed light on a more technical as well as a more business-oriented perspective of this major research topic and were followed by vivid discussions. In addition, a borad overview on the existing Siemens-TUM cooperation was given. Finally, a video about the Siemens Student Challenge, which is a hackathon in the framework of the Siemens Mentoring Program, and a short presentation of the results of one of the challenges by students and their mentors completed the conference’s agenda.
During the breaks, the audience had the opportunity to take a closer look at Siemens Mindsphere Demonstrators that were built up in the entrance hall.
